In this article, we are going to be discussing our Logo Design and Brand Conceptualization process for the It’s In Me project.

Background

It’s In Me is an on-going project that is built on the premise that individuals have the capacity to fulfill their long-term and short-term goals. Here is an excerpt directly from the client:
I call this place home for those who seek guidance, hope, and the belief in infinite possibilities. If anyone knows what it is like to struggle and face certain adversities I am sure that I can relate to some level. Of course, I believe that I am the eternal optimist too. When Creative Intellects, Inc., was first approached, we were asked to brand and develop a unique design strategy that would last the test of time. We were asked that the brand convey, ‘Freedom, Peace, Mentorship, Selfless, and Love’ to name a few.

The Process

Creative Intellects, Inc., initial approach was to create a strong conceptual definition – one visual symbol with multiple interpretations. During our process we excluded abstract symbols as it was necessary for the mark to convey a highly personal look. During this process we conceptualized many symbolic forms that would represent the clients objective outlined above.
Through this process, we utilized the butterfly as our primary focus as it encompassed the true nature of the clients mission. An effort to really brand It’s In Me as a independent source as well as presenting a more resilient image it coincided with the client’s objective.

The Solution

The addition of an organic butterfly helps conceptualize the overall mission. The perspective of the left wing is within the background – indicating the experiences that we have placed behind. The right wing much larger is placed in the foreground, indicating hopes, dreams, and aspirations. The wing also indicates life’s right hand person. With the color scheme of grey and pink, our color theory is positioned to bring a sense of calmness to the viewer.

The logo is a strong pragmatic solution that is not too abstract. It’s effective on any medium and can be enlarged on signage, and reads well in both large and small versions and meets full criteria for black and white facsimile transfer. We call this brand strategy a home run.
